The Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the TAIEX project application "Implementation of IFRS 17 and 9", organized a two-day workshop in Banja Luka from 29 to 30 January 2025. The workshop was attended by representatives of the Insurance Agency of BiH, the Insurance Supervisory Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Insurance Agency of the Republic of Srpska. The workshop is the first phase of a series of events in accordance with the TAIEX application, which was developed according to the needs of all three Agencies.
Experts from the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency, Iva Ivanković, Suzana Dumančić, Petra Simić and Silvana Knežević, presented to the workshop participants their experiences related to the preparation of the implementation of International Accounting Standards 17 and 9 in the Republic of Croatia. Among other things, good practices were presented in terms of the dynamics and scope of the preparatory activities carried out, the necessary changes to the domestic regulatory framework, the development of supervision methodologies and understanding the effects and limitations of the implementation of the standards in question on the operations of insurance companies.
