Representatives of the Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated and presented the insurance market in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the roundtable and dialogue of insurance market regulators and the private sector of the countries of Southeastern Europe organized by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) in Istanbul on December 3, 2024 under the title "SEE 2030 Regional meeting: Disaster Risk Insurance Dialogue“.
Catastrophe insurance coverage in the region remains unsatisfactory, despite the significant exposure of South-East Europe to catastrophe risks and climate change. Finding sustainable solutions for accessible and affordable catastrophe insurance for citizens and businesses is one of the key tasks all regional insurance market regulators are facing with. This task is part of the overall South-East Europe Development Strategy, which was adopted in Antalya in June 2021 by the leaders of the thirteen economies of the region at the South-East Europe Cooperation Process Summit.
All delegations supported the presented RCC initiative and the continuation of this regional dialogue in order to jointly improve existing or design new solutions. The meeting was also an opportunity to present current regulatory models, practices and experiences in the promotion of catastrophe insurance.
